Volunteers from one coast to the other

"Salem (Oregon) First Presbyterian Church sent an 11 person team to help with the Sandy disaster recovery effort in Brooklyn. The team stayed at PDA's Jamaica Village hosted by First Presbyterian Church in Jamaica. The Oregon team shared this wonderful volunteer center with Gaithersburg (Maryland) Presbyterian Church's team.

"The Oregon team helped a small church on Coney Island with an elderly congregation with their recovery efforts. The work made us tired and sore but we felt so blessed to be servants. Everywhere the team went they were greeted with opened arms. New friendships were formed and lives enriched as a result.

"The team wants to thank our congregation for their support and prayers, and First Presbyterian Church in Jamaica for their hospitality to us and their support of PDA."
