A Hot Cup of Coffee

Sometimes it's the small gestures of friendship and kindness that keep a shaky spirit from breaking.

Where we've found churches with electricity, we've also found signs: Come in; charge your phone; warm up. Some with kitchens offer comfort food .... pounds and pounds of volunteer-prepared mac and cheese, or pancake breakfasts, EVERYONE WELCOME. Others, without kitchen amenities, offer cookies and solace.

A lot of BIG relief agencies are handling the BIG jobs. But it's often, still, the hot cup of coffee that gets you through the morning.
