Oklahoma - Spring Break week or Spring break work?

Nine volunteers from the University of North Texas Alternative Spring Break program participated in tornado relief efforts March 10-14, 2014 at Serve Moore. Throughout the week, volunteers assisted in cleaning debris and building garden beds and sheds to assist the community affected by the tornado that occurred last year.  The group stayed at Epworth United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City.

We are thankful for the support of PDA and local churches to help make it possible for the students to spend their spring break volunteering.  This truly is a life changing experience for them and ignites a passion to continue volunteering locally beyond the week.

Thank you to Amy Simon for directing the Center for Leadership and Service at the University of North Texas and sharing this information, and to the team for sharing your photograph.
