Investing in a Green Future: A Vision for a Renewed Creation (2022)

This resolution commemorates the 32nd anniversary of Restoring Creation for Ecology and Justice, (1990).  It provides a call to the church to do the trifold work of environmental justice, environmental racism and economic justice.  It provides a vision for a renewed and restored creation, one with a low carbon/zero emissions global economy, better health outcomes, living wage jobs, clean air and water, wilderness preserved for its own sake, access to healthy food and the reparation of broken relationships.


Resolution on Race, Reparative Justice and the PC(USA) (2022)

This resolution builds upon the prior actions of the General Assembly, calling for actions at all levels and within all entities of the PC(USA) to address race-based injustice, promote reparations and engage in repair.  It reviews the work already done and currently underway, and focuses on needed structural changes to deepen the PC(USA)’s reparative work.  It calls for an interim report to the General Assembly in 2024 and a final report in 2026.


Resolution on Sanctions (2022)

This resolution calls for impact reviews before and after the implementation of sanctions, ensuring that sanctions regimes do not cause undue harm to civilian populations.  Addresses the sanctions powers of the U.S. President and seeks to restore congressional oversight and review.  Calls into question the use of broad economic sanctions as a tool of foreign policy.


Gun Violence: An action of the 225th General Assembly (2022)

This action of the 225th General Assembly (2022) in response to a report from the Advisory Committee on Social Witness Policy (ACSWP) provides an update to the statistics included in the 2010 "Gun Violence, Gospel Value: Mobilizing in Response to God's Call."  It also provides new recommendations including the implementation of the PCUSA's 10-year campaign, the Decade to End Gun Violence.


Afghanistan: A Time to Mend

This action of the 225th General Assembly (2022) is a report from the Advisory Committee on Social Witness Policy (ACSWP) in the aftermath of the war in Afghanistan, our country's longest war.  It includes a call for self-examination, confession and repentance and recommended actions to be taken by the General Assembly, national and local governments, congregations and members.
