Earth Day 2024

On Earth Day 2024, the Rev. Bronwen Boswell, Acting Stated Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), has issued a statement about the ways the PC(USA) stands united with over 35 other denominations in acknowledging climate change as a profound moral and ethical issue demanding urgent attention and action.

“May our actions be guided by principles of love, compassion, and justice as we seek to fulfill our calling to be faithful stewards of God's gift of Creation,” Boswell writes.


Acting Stated Clerk joins 140 other Christian leaders calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and a halt of arms sales to Israel

Together with more than 140 other church leaders from around the world, the Rev. Bronwen Boswell, Acting Stated Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), has signed a letter calling for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and the halt of arms sales to Israel. “As Christians around the world prepare to commemorate the final suffering in the earthly life of Jesus Christ during Holy Week, we stand in solidarity with all in the Holy Land who suffer,” the letter states. “We repent of the ways we have not stood alongside our Palestinian siblings in faithful witness in the midst of their grief, agony, and sorrow.”


We live in volatile times

As this year’s presidential election kicks into high gear, voters are bracing for a brutal campaign season. Internationally, violence in Gaza and Ukraine have left thousands dead, injured, and homeless, with no end in sight.

A call to prayer for the people of Haiti

As people of faith, members of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) have walked with the people of Haiti for decades. Calling for a stop to the destruction of Gaza

Last week, the Rev. Bronwen Boswell, Stated Clerk of the General Assembly, joined other church heads of communion in the nation’s capital to call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

The leaders also pressed U.S. government officials to renew funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNWRA) and to work for the release of all hostages in Gaza in exchange for Palestinian prisoners in Israel.


Bronwen Boswell reaches midpoint of her term with the Office of the General Assembly

On July 10, 2023, the Rev. Bronwen Boswell hit the ground running as Acting Stated Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) She didn’t have a lot of time to celebrate her one-year assignment, but immediately dove into some of the denomination’s major challenges and initiatives including unification of the Office of the General Assembly and the Presbyterian Mission Agency, as well as the planning for the 226th General Assembly.
